PROGRAMS

The Winnipeg Sport Institute is excited to announce its first Preparatory program;  Central Canada Prep (CCP) is a program that will maximize the potential of our communities most promising high school basketball players. With a focus on academic excellence, high level competition and character development, WSI will deliver an experience that increases exposure and increases level of deliberate practice for aspiring high level high school and post grad student-athletes in the country.

More specifically, students at CCP will be exposed to frequent deliberate practice and training through practice and competition.  Students will learn a basketball curriculum that focuses on skill development, individualized fitness and conditioning programs, as well as decision making training while implementing team concepts both offensively and defensively in order to prepare them for a variety of post-secondary basketball opportunities.

Students in grade 11 and 12 have the opportunity to complete Physical Education and Exercise Science courses during their participation in our basketball program.  These courses are taught and carefully integrated into programming by the program’s director.  The goal is to use basketball as a vehicle to further solidify long lasting skills and attitudes that are required for continued success as a student-athlete at the next level.

Students exploring a post-grad year will have the opportunity to start on their post-secondary education in a variety of faculties offered by The University of Winnipeg.  The goal of this program is to continue furthering our student-athlete’s education in order for them to work towards their careers while exploring high level basketball programming.

Central Canada Prep will play a competitive schedule by playing regional, national and international preparatory programs while the amateur sport community recovers from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
